Ms. Hansen’s practice is primarily focused on commercial real estate and business transactions.  She also lends her litigation experience to the firm’s litigation department by handling select real estate cases.  Ms. Hansen represents landlords and tenants in all aspects of real estate transactions, including leasing of office, warehouse, and industrial spaces. She counsels clients in real property matters and prepares purchase and sale agreements, deeds, tenants in common agreements, and other property acquisition, due diligence, and transfer documents.  She also advises businesses on entity formation and operation. 


Prior to joining The Opus Law Firm, Ms. Hansen served as in-house counsel for a leading southern California commercial real estate brokerage company. She worked closely with brokers and tenants in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating hundreds of real estate agreements, including leases, subleases, assignments, and purchase and sale documents. She also has extensive experience drafting and evaluating engagement letters, nondisclosure agreements, commission agreements, and arbitration agreements.


Ms. Hansen spent more than seven years as a Senior Associate at a reputable San Diego law firm representing high-profile big box retailers and businesses in business litigation, insurance coverage and indemnity cases. She has first-hand experience in all aspects of litigation from drafting of initial case pleadings, to taking and defending percipient and expert depositions, and trying cases before juries in both state and federal court.


Ms. Hansen’s varied background in transactional and business litigation makes her uniquely equipped to identify and avert risk for her clients, while delivering high quality legal advice and work product.
