As the firm’s lead Litigation Paralegal, Ms. Austin supports the firm’s representation of clients in disputed matters, including court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations. She is responsible for managing client files, preparing pleadings and motions for filing with courts, coordinating discovery papers and document productions, and assisting attorneys in depositions and witness preparation. In addition, Ms. Austin works closely with clients and attorneys through trial proceedings to support case organization and trial presentation, and she is responsible for closing out case documents when a trial has concluded.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Austin completed her paralegal studies with honors through the University of San Diego’s American Bar Association accredited Paralegal Studies program and obtained a certificate from the National Society for Legal Technology for completing course study in legal technology.
Ms. Austin graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University San Marcos with a B.A. in Criminology and Justice Studies. During her time at California State University San Marcos, Ms. Austin presented at the Sociology, Criminology & Justice Studies student research symposium on how social institutions impact our everyday lives.
In her spare time, Ms. Austin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her Cane Corso dog, and reading.
