Besse Dozadiaz’s primary practice areas are corporate law, commercial real estate and business transactions. Ms. Dozadiaz has over 17 years’ experience advising clients on corporate matters and business transactions including mergers and acquisitions; commercial real estate transactions including leasing, 1031 exchanges, easements, and development/construction contracts; tax driven reorganizations and business succession planning; IP licensing and protection of trade secrets; employment and severance agreements, equity compensation plans, and day-to-day business contracts.
Ms. Dozadiaz has also worked as in-house counsel with a publicly traded global technology and defense firm, and for a national medical group practice management corporation.
Having obtained her Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law, the nation’s premier institution for tax law, Ms. Dozadiaz approaches business and real estate transactions with a special knowledge of the tax planning considerations involved. Besse’s tax experience includes representing business clients in IRS audits and Private Letter Ruling requests, tax planning and family business succession planning. She also has prior extensive experience in estate planning and trust administration.
A fourth generation Gaucho, Besse received her Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Barbara. She received her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from California Western School of Law in San Diego, where she was Executive Editor of the Law Review.
