Ms. McCormick is the lead litigation paralegal for The Opus Law Firm. She brings experience with firms of all sizes, and she has a keen understanding of the issues faced by clients of various backgrounds.
Ms. McCormick began her career in the legal field working with a solo practitioner in civil litigation and tax law, before moving to a boutique litigation and transactional firm. Ms. McCormick then took a position with one of San Diego’s largest law firms, before joining The Opus Law Firm. Ms. McCormick’s role as paralegal includes supporting attorneys and clients through all aspects of civil litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery and trial to post-trial matters. She is also familiar with all aspects of law firm operations, and has through her career handled a variety of responsibilities, including serving as a paralegal, litigation legal secretary, and calendar clerk, as well as providing billing support services and handling general office operations. In addition to her time in the legal field, Ms. McCormick has also worked in the publishing and education industries.
Ms. McCormick attended University of California Berkeley as an undergraduate to study English. While there, she spent a year as the Advocacy Coordinator for one of the campus recruitment and retention centers, as well as a semester as the Social Etiquette Coordinator for a large social organization. Ms. McCormick then obtained her Paralegal Certificate and Advanced Paralegal Certificate through CSU San Marcos.
Ms. McCormick is a current member of the San Diego Paralegal Association and the San Diego chapter of Women in eDiscovery, and is a former member of the San Diego Legal Secretaries Association. In her free time, she is an aspiring amateur sommelier and is currently working on obtaining her Wine & Spirit Education Trust certification.
